Stripy Shorts And The Everlasting Belt

I've been meaning to do this post for a while, but got round to taking pics of my lovely new Topshop shorts yesterday. The belt I'm wearing has lasted me years, but for some reason the belt loop snapped yesterday - going to have to get that fixed asap!

Body - Topshop / Belt - Accessorize /  Shorts - Topshop / Watch - GC by Guess

Rings: Left to right - Accessorize, Accessorize, Oliver Bonas / Nail Varnish - OPI Glow Up Already! / Chubby fingers - Model's own!

Tights - River Island

So as you can see, I've teamed these gorgeous shorts with a pastel pink body, a vintage style belt and some knitted tights (it's so cold in Bournemouth that having bare legs is NOT an option.) I wore this outfit shopping yesterday, and I think it's a lovely outfit for every day wear, and the shorts could be dolled up for evening with a cropped top with some magenta block heels and a clutch to match would allow for a gorgeous contrast. The watch was a gift for my 18th birthday, and I love that it's silver and rose gold - it goes with everything and you don't have to worry about only wearing silver or gold jewellery.

I also picked up a few bits and bobs on my outing yesterday, so I'll show you a couple of bargain buys in my next post! I'm going to clamber back into bed now, it's absolutely freezing today! I've had three duvet days in a row and it's still not enough.

Hope everyone has had a lovely week, let me know how you'd style these shorts for the colder weather!

Crocodile, Velour and Fur

I apologise in advance for the lack of an outfit post - I find it so hard to find somewhere to take pictures at university, as I don't feel comfortable wandering around with my camera and tripod alone in case they get pinched! I've recently stumbled across a couple of bargains that I wanted to share, so let me know what you think.

I managed to nab this crocodile skin bag at a charity shop for only £6.50 - complete bargain! From what I can tell, it was originally from M & S, but it's definitely not a recent season! Considering how old it is, it's in great condition and I love it. It's very versatile because of the size, shape and colour, so it's definitely going to be a wardrobe staple of mine.

I mentioned these black velour Mary Janes in a previous post, so I thought I'd take a picture for you all to see. They were £7 in the New Look sale, and they had a few left last time I checked so I'd advise you to buy a pair now! I must admit, they aren't the most comfortable heels in the world, but I think that has more to do with my awkward feet than the shoes themselves! They're a really nice height, not too high, which means they could be suitable for day wear too.

This burgundy coat was in the Next sale, and it was reduced from £60 to £30. I am in love with the fur collar and that it's detachable because I can transfer it onto other coats or even jumpers. These photos don't really do it justice (again, I apologise for the rubbish location). It has a really lovely cut and the style would suit anyone. I did have concerns that I wouldn't be able to match it with anything, but that hasn't been a problem as of yet - it's getting plenty of wear!

The rest of my new bits and bobs will be coming up in a proper outfit post over the next week or so; keep your eyes peeled!

Hope you've all had a lovely week.

Pretty In Pastels

1. Topshop - £22 / 2. ASOS - £12 / 3. Topshop - £10 / 4. Topshop - £32 / 5. Miss Selfridge - £16 / 6. Topshop - £30 / 7. ASOS -  £38 / 8. Dorothy Perkins - £5 / 9. Zara - £29.99
I'm so excited for the Spring trends. Pastels are back which I'm ecstatic about - the styles that are being released are so retro and vintage and I'm head over heels.

I know it's a bit early for shorts, but they can be teamed with knitted tights in the Spring which is exactly what I'll be doing. I was obsessed with the striped shorts, so I am now the proud owner of the pair shown here but with mint green stripes (outfit post to come). The bleach denim ones are next on my list; spending money I don't have as per.

I love loafers and although I have four pairs already, my wardrobe is definitely missing these! Mint is such a gorgeous colour, and can be worn with any lights and brights.

What are your opinions on the pastel trend? Do you prefer 90s festival chic for Spring?

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things

I love anything niche, vintage or a little unusual. I discovered this stamp collection in a vintage thrift shop, and I have such an obsession with tatty books and the like that I bought three of them!

I got this Art Deco Illustration book for Christmas and can't stop sifting through it for ideas. After doing Textile Art A Level I found different eras of fashion so interesting, so this book is brilliant for finding extra fashion ideas and having a flick through for some inspiration.

These tatty little books were my Mum's years ago! Bunnikin's Picnic and The Universal Dream book - I just love them they're so antiquey and gorgeous.

Red, Leather and Leopard Print

Apologies for neglecting my blog over the past week - I had two huge deadlines but I'm back now!

I ordered this playsuit from ASOS in their sale (couldn't resist for £12) and fell in love with it. I love how versatile it is and dark red is a really popular colour at the moment. It goes perfectly with the leopard print scarf too! I've had the leather jacket for ages but don't wear it often - but I think it works pretty well with this outfit. To mix it up for evening, I'd team it with some black velour Mary Janes, or even some Litas if you want to make more of a statement.

Leather Jacket - Vintage / Playsuit - ASOS / Scarf - H & M / Bag - Vintage / Shoes - ASOS

What do you think of the rounded photo edges? Let me know if it's a yay or a nay!
Hope you've all had a lovely week.

Monochrome, glitter and a splash of colour

Monochrome emulates the days of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe - I love that it's so timeless. Nothing flatters monochrome better than a colour splash - particularly red. These lovelies are on my must-have list for pay day - I'm literally so in love with that fur jacket and the glitter collar against the cream chiffon blouse is bang on trend.
1. ASOS - £12 / 2. New Look - £24.99 / 3. Peacocks - £12 / 4. Dorothy Perkins - £15 /
5. H & M - £20 / 6. Dressrail.com - £23.99

Amazing prices - you can thank me later!

XOXO

First proper outfit post! Just wanted to show you some of my most recent buys, as I'm completely obsessed with the jumper. I'm a huge fan of knitwear anyway, but this caught my eye and I couldn't walk away! I'm not usually one for logos but Topshop do some lovely ones like this; they had one last season with a large '&' symbol on the front, but at the time, my funds would not allow it (they still don't, but I have a student overdraft now!)

Jumper: Topshop / Leather Trousers: H & M

Brogues: ASOS

The leather trousers are from H & M, I got them for £5.61 in their online sale - complete bargain! The thing I really like about them is the fact that the back is a stretch jersey material - much more flattering for the curvier, shorter girl such as myself, as sadly, leather trousers are aimed at the tall and tiny!

Nail Varnish: No. 7, Totally Teal

The brogues I'm wearing are really unusual and that's why I love them so much. They're black patent leather, with a white section and black tassels on the front. I love the monochrome aspect of this outfit - very on trend for winter and never goes out of fashion!

What are your favourite winter trends?

All black hair, and floral dress patterns

I'm possibly the most awkward 'model' ever! I was rooting through my wardrobe last night and rediscovered this pretty little dress - I'd forgotten how much I loved it! It falls so nicely, and considering it's a baby doll dress, it's incredibly flattering. So even with the horrendous lighting in my bedroom, I decided to take a few snaps.

Dress: LOVE at Topshop
Nail polish: No.7 Damson Dream / Awkward pose: Model's own

New outfit post coming soon - I have a couple of bits to show you from my last shopping outing ( I literally can't leave the house without buying something) and my favourite additions to my wardrobe.
